Another digital site for APN as Australian OOH thrives
Australia’s APN Outdoor has launched its third digital billboard, at Sydney Airport.
Its first digital billboard went live in the autumn of 2008, atop the famous Young and Jackson pub in Melbourne, and a year later it added a second at the Sydney airport, over a four-lane road used by passengers departing for the city.
The new digital site is part of an aggressive expansion programme for APN Outdoor, which has also built 32 new conventional billboards and plans a further 14 for next month.
Australia’s out-of-home market is doing well, with 8.8 percent growth in the first quarter of 2010 compared to the same period in 2009, according to the country’s Outdoor Media Association (OMA). Recovery began in November, according to OMA, which expects its new Move audience-measurement project to increase confidence in the medium.
