EnQii, DW Green create supermarket screen network
Digital out-of-home specialist EnQii and DW Green Company, which provides marketing services to retailers, are teaming up to offer a screen network to supermarkets in the U.S.
GreenTV will “provide grocery retailers with supermarket-focused content designed to drive incremental sales and communicate competitive advantages”, they said.
LCD displays showing the network will be located in pharmacy and health sections of supermarkets as well as specialist food areas such as meat counters, bakeries and delicatessens.
The two firms have been working on the project for around 18 months, finding that stores highlighting specific items on-screen have pushed sales volumes of those products to more than twice the level achieved in other stores that used static signage to promote them.
While reports of sales increases created by retail digital signage have varied greatly from one study to another, this is one of the highest claims for uplift, with the reported percentages frequently being well below 50 percent.
Stuart Armstrong, president of EnQii North America, said: “Combining EnQii’s experience in digital signage with DW Green Company’s award-winning store content is what has helped leverage the strong sales results.”
EnQii’s client list in North America already includes the Fred Meyer supermarket chain.
