Digital billboards debut on Beirut streets
Outdoor media owner Les Affichages Pikasso has launched a digital billboard network in Beirut.
It is one of the first in the Middle East, where outdoor advertising dominates many streetscapes – often unchecked by effective regulation – but most digital out-of-home activity to date has been indoors.
Pikasso's five Daktronics LED billboards, each measuring 3.9x3m, are located on main thoroughfares surrounding the city centre.
The network, dubbed Beirut Digital, runs from 6am to 2am, and up to 3am on weekends, showing static eight-second spots.
Ratecard is $15,000 for one month across the whole network. The billboards are also available for one-week and two-week campaigns, and for single days on special occasions.
Earlier this year, Pikasso installed a network of eight 70-inch LCD screens inside Beirut's City Mall.
The company also has more than 8000 non-digital out-of-home advertising sites across Algeria, Iraq, Jordan and Lebanon.
