Bank co-ops use DOOH network to fight off rivals

Banking co-operatives in Poland are seeking a competitive edge from digital signage as larger rivals encroach on their markets.

The country’s three co-operative banking associations, representing more than 580 branches across Poland, have launched a network called BSTV carrying content including news and weather as well as banking information such as foreign-exchange rates. Some programming is shown across the entire network while other material is localised.

“We needed a solution that was cost-effective, yet innovative enough to grab our clients’ attention and clearly communicate the benefits of working with us versus the larger banks,” said Jacek Marmulewicz, a representative of the co-operative financial institutions.

To date, 22 bank branches have deployed the network, with four screens each.

It was developed and will be managed by Scala partner DDS Poland, which has also built networks for Alior Bank and Bank Zachodni WBK.
