Omani oil firm uses screens to reach its staff

SpanImage, the Middle Eastern digital-signage firm headquartered in Sharjah, has signed its first Omani client.

The Oman Oil Marketing Company (OOMC) is installing a screen-based system for communications with employees and visitors at its headquarters in  Mina Al Fahal, near the Omani capital Muscat.

Content will include promotions and news, with regional and local headlines as well as corporate updates.

“In such tough times, you don’t want to use just emails to announce important news,” said Wisam J. Al-Said, PR and communications manager for OOMC.

The network is based on SpanImage’s Span DDS server and NEC LCD displays.

Besides its Sharjah headquarters, which currently serves the entire Middle East region, SpanImage has offices in Nairobi and near Vancouver.

Its digital-signage projects have included Sharjah Expo Centre, the Gold Land mall in Dubai, the Al Qasba entertainment complex in Sharjah, and Nairobi’s Sarit Centre mall.
