iPhone users interact with Westfield screens

Digital out-of-home displays operated by CBS Outdoor in London’s new Westfield shopping centre now allow users of Apple’s iPhone to control the on-screen visuals from the phone’s touchscreen.

CBS Outdoor worked with digital advertising specialist Clusta to develop the interactive system, which lets iPhone owners move their fingers across their touchscreens or use the two-finger “pinch” and “stretch” movements characteristic of the Apple handset to make on-screen objects spin, zoom in and out, and change colour. Other types of interaction may be added later.

The feature went live this week.
