Zoom bars get interaction from LocaModa

LocaModa is to supply its interactive technology to 600 North American bars where Zoom Media & Marketing operates digital out-of-home screens.

Using LocaModa’s services, the Zoom displays will now offer bar visitors access to Websites including Facebook and Twitter as well as interaction with ads via their mobile phones.

“LocaModa’s technology allows bar-goers to make a seamless transition from communicating with their friends to interacting with advertisers,” said Dan Levi, senior VP of digital media and strategic partnerships at Zoom.

Bar patrons are nearly twice as likely as the average adult to use SMS text messaging, according to Zoom, and 75 percent more likely to use the technology in response to a commercial message.

An unnamed TV network has been signed as the first advertising client to take advantage of the Zoom/LocaModa partnership. The two firms previously collaborated on campaigns for AT&T and VH1.
