IndoorDirect puts social networking on the menu

U.S. digital out-of-home operator IndoorDirect is licensing LocaModa’s interactive platform for more than 1000 of its restaurant locations.

It will use the LocaModa technology in three programming strands running on its Restaurant Entertainment Network – TheBite, TheBiteWeekend and TheBite@Nite.

Incorporating LocaModa’s technology will let IndoorDirect’s screens use features of social-networking services such as Facebook and Twitter, as well as the Websites of advertisers.

Locations will include branches of Carl’s Jr., McDonald’s and Wendy’s.

Although LocaModa is perhaps best known for adding interaction to large public screens in sites like New York’s Times Square, it has also proved popular for indoor screens in the leisure market, with both Ecast and Zoom Media & Marketing harnessing the LocaModa platform for their bar networks.
