A digital “wanted” poster with a difference

The FBI and the U.S. Marshals Service are both using digital billboards to get their man. But now they’re joined by a less likely group – fans of Brett Favre, an American football quarterback.

They have bought spots on a Lamar Advertising digital display near Favre’s home in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, encouraging the player to return to play again for the Minnesota Vikings next season.

The copy reads: “Hey #4, do Minnesota fans love you and want you back next year? You Brettcha!”

Supporters for the project were recruited through Facebook – where a group dedicated to keeping Favre on the Minnesota team has more than 130,000 members – and then asked to donate money through a dedicated Website. $2600 was raised to buy the digital-billboard spot for a month.
