Adventure concept stores open with digital signage
In-store digital signage is integral to a new retail format being rolled out by South African outdoor specialist Cape Union Mart.
The firm’s Adventure Centre concept stores – which include features such as climbing walls and cold-weather chambers – have 37-inch LCD displays at the checkouts and 50-inch screens in the main retail areas. Each section of the stores has a dedicated channel, showing product videos and highlighting special offers.
The network is centrally run from Cape Union Mart’s headquarters in Cape Town using Isenzo’s Mediacaster software.
Cape Union Mart has also installed digital signage at its outlet in Johannesburg’s O.R. Tambo International Airport, where a large LCD is divided into two zones – one carrying weather information for ten international travel destinations (pictured), and the other advertising all-weather gear available in the shop.
The retailer has about 75 stores across South Africa, Namibia and Botswana.
