iPhone management? That’s so yesterday...

As digital-signage technology vendors struggle for differentiation in a crowded market, it’s perhaps no surprise that one is already claiming integration with Apple’s iPad – less than a week after the tablet computer was released.

AMX, which markets digital-signage systems under the Inspired Signage brand, says they can be controlled by the iPad as well as Apple’s existing iPod and iPhone platforms, Research in Motion’s BlackBerry, Microsoft Windows-based devices, and mobile devices using the Android operating system.

“Existing AMX tools for the iPod/iPhone are expected to work on the iPad,” says the company. “Nothing new will be required to integrate the iPad.”

“Similarly,” it adds, “AMX offers applications that allow AMX technology to control music or video on Apple devices like the iPod and Apple TV.”
