Chicago community screens aid small businesses

An unusual partnership between a digital-signage firm and a Chicago neighbourhood body is attracting bus riders into local businesses.

Technology supplier RedPost partnered with the Wicker Park and Bucktown (WPB) special service area – one of several such organisations around Chicago charged with improving parts of the city – to place screens along four bus routes.

Airport food sales take off with digital signage

When shrinking passenger numbers at Copenhagen Airport began to hit sales in Select Service Partner’s seven food and beverage outlets there, the firm turned to digital signage.

After establishing that product promotions in two of the stores did indeed lead to sales uplift, Select Service Partner (SSP) committed to roll out 33 Samsung displays and 14 players across its sites at the airport.

Amscreen signs another fuel chain to C-store network

Britain’s Amscreen is set to nearly double its presence in gas-station convenience stores through a deal with fuel retailer MRH, and believes its network could eventually reach 10m motorists weekly.

Its “close-proximity signage” systems will be rolled out to 300 sites operated by the UK’s largest independent fuel retailer, and form part of the Amscreen Convenience Store Network.

Auto dealers get touchscreen sales aid

More than 2300 Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep dealers in the U.S. can now offer touchscreen kiosks in their showrooms, after an upgrade to their sales-assistance system developed by Wireless Ronin.

The system, previously known as the Vehicle Information Center (VIC) but now dubbed iShowroom, is a customised version of Wireless Ronin’s RoninCast for Automotive product.

Sales staff can access it via the Web on their desktop PCs, or

A promotion for a new music album at a London mall is using the shopping centre’s audio system as well as its digital screens.

The UK launch of R&B artist Chris Brown’s album Graffiti is highlighted every hour on CBS Outdoor’s giant Centre Spectacular LED screen at Westfield London.

Mall package bundles screens and posters

Britain’s Limited Space is offering exclusive use of its network of giant mall screens to a single advertiser as part of a Christmas domination package.

The package, which covers 30 major malls including Bluewater in Kent, the Bullring in Birmingham, Meadowhall in Sheffield and MetroCentre in Gateshead, combines the firm’s three principal formats – Ad HD, Adlifts, and Panoramics.

A Philadelphia firm is placing screens at newsstands on busy streets in a project supported by local CBS stations as well as city authorities.

Center City Direct’s ad-funded network aimed at downtown workers is being rolled out just months after the city council approved an ordinance allowing digital-signage installations for public information and safety.

Customers in the stores of Chinese fruit retailer Pagoda are watching its digital screens for a full minute on average, according to research conducted as the company prepares to roll out to more than 100 branches.
